Ask Ozi ("Ask Ozi", "we", "us") provides AI-powered product support agents: businesses ("Owners") upload product documentation, and their customers ("Customers") chat with an AI agent to get answers. This policy explains what data we collect from each group and how we handle it.

1. Information we collect

From Owners (the business account)

  • Account information: name, email address, and password (or SSO identity), organization name.
  • Content you upload: product documentation (PDFs, YouTube links, web pages, manually entered text), product details (name, brand, model number, description), and agent configuration (persona, tone, custom instructions, escalation contacts).
  • Billing information: processed by Stripe on our behalf — we do not store your card details ourselves.
  • Usage data: which features you use, product/session counts, and log data needed to operate and secure the service.

From Customers (end users chatting with an agent)

  • Anonymous chat: a randomly generated session identifier stored in your browser's local storage. We do not require an account to chat.
  • If you choose to sign in (optional, via a one-time email link): your email address, to restore chat history and save favorites across visits.
  • Chat content: the messages you send and the agent's responses, so the conversation can continue and the Owner can review support quality.
  • If you request a callback: the phone number or email you provide, and any note you include.

2. How we use this information

  • To operate the chat service — retrieving relevant documentation and generating answers.
  • To let Owners manage their products, knowledge base, and view aggregate analytics (e.g. common questions, gaps in documentation).
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To send transactional email (magic links, billing notices, support-ticket notifications) — never marketing email without your consent.
  • To detect abuse and keep the service secure and available.

3. Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers ("sub-processors") to run Ask Ozi. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) — the AI models that generate chat responses. Your message text and relevant retrieved documentation are sent to whichever provider is configured for that agent.
  • Voyage AI — generates the search embeddings used to find relevant documentation (does not see full conversations).
  • Stripe — payment processing for Owner subscriptions.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional email (magic links, notifications).
  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • Sentry (if enabled) — error monitoring, to help us fix bugs.
  • Upstash (if enabled) — rate limiting to prevent abuse.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

4. Data retention

Owner account data and uploaded documentation are retained for as long as the account is active. Chat history is retained so conversations can continue and so Owners can review support quality; Customers with an account can delete their account at any time from /my/account, which removes their saved favorites and unlinks their chat history. Owners can delete a product at any time, which removes its knowledge base, chat sessions, and related data.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of cookies and browser local-storage entries needed to operate the service (session identifiers, sign-in state, theme preference). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

6. International data transfers

Our infrastructure providers operate in the United States and other countries. By using Ask Ozi, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence.

7. Children's privacy

Ask Ozi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at support@askozi.com. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
